Testimonials and Financial Aid Awards

Nothing Speaks Louder Than Results!

The contents on this page are the among the most important of everything on our entire site!  Educating families, counseling them, free seminars, free personal assessment consultations, forms processing - these are all very important, but what's the end result?

Below are testimonials from families who have worked with GetCollegeFunding.  Read in their own words what their experience has been.  We want to thank everyone who continues to write to us and allows us to share not only their testimonials but their names as well.

Everything culminates in March and April when the financial aid awards are received by families we've worked with.  Look at some of the awards that resulted from GetCollegeFunding's assistance to families for the coming 2007-2008 college year.

San Clemente High School Seminar

Right now our daughter is in geting packed and ready to leave for the University of Redlands.  The U of R was always her first choice but due to cost we encouraged her to look at other schools.  My husband and I are both teachers and we heard of your seminar at San Clemente High which we attended.

Shortly after the seminar we met privately with Tom.  After meeting with him we were encouraged that yes indeed private schools do offer fantastic grants and scholarships.  He helped us fill out the dreaded FAFSA and submittted all the necessary paperwork while meeting all the deadlines.

GetCollegeFunding was right.......she received a $16,860 scholarship from the University of Redlands. She couldn't be happier. Thank you Tom and Lawrene for making this possible. We will forever sing your praises.

It is with great pleasure that I offer a note of support for Getcollegefunding.  When my wife and I scheduled our "free" appointment with you, I was very skeptical.  I told my wife I felt we would be pressured into purchasing a number of services that would be billed as "must haves".  To my pleasant surprise, we were met with nothing but valuable information to help us navigate the road of college financial aid.  I only wish we had undertaken this process earlier!

At no time did we feel that we were being pressured into purchasing anything.  In fact, I had to ask you how you make money, and you did not even solicit me in any way.  The information you gave us was accurate and pertinent!

In summary, I will recommend your services to my family and friends, and I would be very comfortable vouching for you with any school interested in your services.

Thank you for helping to make a complicated subject understandable and the very real challenge of paying college expenses for two kids achievable.  When my wife 'sent' me to your seminar - I was in complete 'yes dear' mode fully expecting a boring presentation
followed by a guilt inducing sales pitch.  My expectations could not have been further from the reality.

The short seminar was one of the most benefical sessions I've attended on this subject and, frankly, I wish I'd have done so about 4 years ago.  I also attended a private
consultation meeting (also free).  Again, most beneficial, absolutely no pressure to buy anything and more of the college funding mystery was cleared up.

I have completed the FAFSA without any rejection/difficulty, obtained scholarships, secured Stafford and PLUS loans with absolutely no problems.  Those monies, coupled with that which we've saved, mean our kids can attend college and graduate debt free (we will retire the
loans upon their respective graduations).

I would highly recommend other parents take advantage of your expertise.

For fifteen years I was a teacher and counselor in the Irvine Unified School District, so I have a knowledge base from "inside the school system" as well as from the parent perspective.  So last spring, because my twin daughters were juniors and looking toward the college application process, I attended one of Tom's workshops.  I was very impressed with the wealth of information he gave...FREE, with no pressure in any way to "sign up" for his program.

Being an educator, I have never been an uninformed parent, and I have always pursued my own research whenever appropriate; nevertheless, I learned quite a lot in that session.  Subsequently my husband and I met with Tom privately and he gave us even more FREE information, which has been a tremendous asset to us, especially after Anja and Lara decided that they wanted to pursue their undergraduate education at a small, private liberal arts college.  What I learned at Tom's workshops gave me the understanding and the confidence that we could really afford such private college educations.

We never did "sign up" for Tom's very reasonable program, because I thought, with my background, that I could manage the process myself.  In fact, Tom stressed in his workshops and in the private meeting with him that families are very capable of successfully managing the process on their own.  He encouraged us parents to do that, if we were so inclined, and he told us that he would be a support system for us, FREE OF CHARGE, answering our questions via email, phone or even in person.  He has absolutely fulfilled this promise in every way.

In this "there must be some string attached" era Tom and his wife Lawrene stand out as people of integrity, who have a passion to teach, assist and inspire parents (and their children) through the very stressful "college match" process.  This is the true goal of education ~ teaching, assisting and inspiring, yes?  I plan to continue to spread the word about Get College Funding and I want to compliment fellow educators in the Capo Unified School District for having the vision to make Tom and Lawrene available to us.

I can't thank you enough.  We went from zero to $9,000 only because of your help!

Talk about a return on an investment.  Wow!

Talk about being lost!  I had no idea where to start . . . until I attended your session.  Thanks so much for the advice!  As of today, my daughter has four scholarship offers including the most recent one - a $60,000 Presidential Scholarship!

I would certainly recommend your services to anyone.

My husband and I found the hour seminar informative.  We left with useful suggestions for college financial planning. We enjoyed meeting with you for our complimentary consultation. There are so many options and factors to consider when applying for financial aid. You were able to provide an element of clarity to our thinking.

During our recent visit to SMU, our daughter's choice for the fall, we met with her financial aid advisor.  As you suggested, we told her of our plan to revise the FAFSA form in which we included assets that we did not need to reveal.  Now we are completing the CSS Profile which she said she would consider in order to seek possible endowment contributions to Brittany's financial package.  They are very open to helping incoming students in every way possible.

Thank you again for your advice.

If you have a junior or senior in high school and are wondering where to go to learn about how to pay for college, then I suggest you start by attending the free Parent’s Seminar offered by Tom Bottorf of GetCollegeFunding.  The seminar was an eye-opener for me.

I followed up the class with a free consultation where Tom was able to answer my questions as well as provide me with an estimate of what my expected family contribution would be.  When I had a specific question regarding the FAFSA application, I phoned GetCollegeFunding and Tom again provided the information I sought.

If you need someone to give you tips on how to navigate the college funding process, I recommend you consider GetCollegeFunding.  They have always been professional and helpful in their dealings with me.

I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you personally for all your help.  Your company has been such a big help with our getting our daughter into the right college and you were always patient and understanding.  Your low pressure approach was much appreciated during a rather stressful time.  I also really appreciated your guidance with the financial aspect of your program.  You outlined a very workable payment plan for a single Mom's budget. There is so much that goes into finding the right college and finding a way to pay for it.

I would not hesitate to recommend your company to any parent who is planning for their children's college.  There is so much I wouldn't have known if not for your outstanding company.  Our daughter is extremely excited about starting at NYU this fall!  Thanks again.

We just wanted to thank you for your great seminar on how to get college funding.  We found it interesting and informative.  We appreciated you being up-to-date on all the latest laws and also familiar with the different applications and financial information.  We have recommended you to our friends.  Thanks again for all the information you shared.

I would like to once again thank you for the helpful information and guidance you offered to my son and myself.  Classes at Penn start on Wednesday.  Without your information, we would not have been able to navigate the ins and outs of this wonderful school, thank you again.  Thank you, and good luck to you, you really offer a valuable service.
