Tom and Lawrene Bottorf founded GetCollegeFunding with an underlying passion to make a difference in the lives of families committed to sending their children to college. They've achieved this with a solid record of success and have built the organization on their calling. Since entering the College Funding industry, Tom and Lawrene have helped thousands of families understand the highly misunderstood process of College Funding. The Break-Away
Since breaking away from the "business-as-usual" College Funding industry in 2005, they built their non-profit education organization on a strong foundation of excellence, integrity and a desire to serve the public. Over time they realized the need for a "comprehensive" approach to College Planning that didn't seem to exist. They've defined their comprehensive approach as follows:
Comprehensive College Planning begins with Financial Aid Analysis - both need and merit-based - followed with an array of strategies designed to find excellent-fit colleges for the student while minimizing the family's out-of-pocket costs.
Headquarters
GetCollegeFunding is headquartered in lovely Dana Point, California - right across the street from the harbor. Families are welcomed into the office year-round to meet for complimentary College Readiness Reviews. And by the way, being so close to the beach, don’t expect to see any suits or ties (or socks for that matter) - but instead Hawaiian shirts and dockers!
A Public Benefit Education Organization
GetCollegeFunding conducts FREE public and private seminars. As a non-profit, public benefit education organization, they enjoy partnering with high schools - both public and private, churches, and organizations in order to offer free College Funding Seminars to parents (and grandparents), educators and counselors. This is their first step in helping families by educating them with the facts concerning the Financial Aid process.
We support our local schools and businesses. We are thrilled to sponsor school activities and events and enjoy helping out with needs in the local districts whenever we can, including training Guidance Counselors and Academic Advisors. And we are happy to be a member of tour local Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau, where we have a stellar rating.
