STEP 5: IDOC

College Board offers a service to PROFILE Colleges whereby it collects families' federal income tax returns and other essential documents on behalf of colleges choosing to participate in the program.  The service is called Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC).  Currently, 67 colleges are enrolled in IDOC.

Which Colleges Participate in IDOC?

Here are 3 checkpoints to ensure you are aware of college IDOC participation

  • Click here to view College Board's list of PROFILE colleges showing which schools do and which ones do NOT participate in the IDOC program.
  • You'll see first-hand on your PROFILE Acknowledgment (STEP 3) which colleges - if any - to which your student is applying participate in the IDOC Service.
  • In February, College Board will notify you if at least one of your student's colleges is participating in the service.

IDOC is YOUR Responsibility

It's impossible for us to provide the documents required by IDOC colleges.  Logistically, this is YOUR responsibility entirely.  We will be here, however, to answer any questions you might have concerning the IDOC process.   Follow the directions to the letter as provided by IDOC.  You'll find them to be explicit.
