STEP 3: PROFILE Acknowledgment

Upon submitting your CSS PROFILE Form to College Board, we will send you an email notifying you that your data has been received by College Board and that you may log into their website (www.CollegeBoard.com) to retrieve your PROFILE Acknowledgment.  The PROFILE Ackowledgment is similar to the SAR (Student Aid Report) relative to the FAFSA form in that it indicates every bit of information submitted on the CSS PROFILE Form.  One MAJOR difference, however, is that the PROFILE Acknowledgment does NOT indicate the College Board's EFC computation furnished to your colleges!

Retrieving Your PROFILE Acknowledgment

We've prepared a short instructional video (just over 2 minutes) for you that will show you every step involved in retrieving your PROFILE Acknowledgment.

Managing Your PROFILE Acknowledgment

The PROFILE Acknowledgment is a very important document.  You should retrieve (download) it, check it for accuracy and keep it for future reference. We recommend you keep a "soft" copy (PDF) on your computer. If your LEVEL of service with GetCollegeFunding included our College Planning NAVIGATOR, you should also print out the PROFILE Acknowledgment and file behind TAB 9: FinAid Forms/Awards/Appeals.

Review the PROFILE Acknowledgment for accuracy. If you observe ANY errors, unlike the FAFSA, you cannot edit the CSS PROFILE form.  You must contact each PROFILE school individually and notify them of any changes.

You Cannot Update Your CSS PROFILE Form

Unlike the FAFSA form, there is no provision to update the CSS PROFILE when you've filed your 2010 federal Income Tax Return.  The PROFILE Colleges will ALL request a copy of your SIGNED return and the individual colleges will update your CSS PROFILE information.
