What You Can Expect
Here's what every family receives with a College Readiness Review:
-
EFC Analysis
This report will indicate your Federal Methodology (FAFSA) and Institutional Methodology (CSS PROFILE) EFC calculations. The concept of EFC is often over-simplified at “Financial Aid Night”. We will explain to you the intricacies of EFC as it applies to public colleges and privates, how the Financial Aid system works and what you should expect for eligibility.
(This requires you to complete STEP 3 prior to your Review)
-
SAT/ACT/PSAT/PLAN
We'll discuss the importance and strategies of these important tests as related to your family's College Planning - from both an Admissions and a Merit Scholarship standpoint.
-
College Data Report
As part of your College Readiness Review, you will receive a College Data Report for your student’s top-choice college.
-
College Literature
You'll receive several pieces of college literature from our well-maintained library.
-
Merit Aid Discussion
As applicable we will discuss merit-based financial aid (merit scholarships and talent awards). We'll share with you some valuable resources to help you research the availability of merit scholarhips.
-
Higher Education Loans
If you have any questions or concerns about higher education loans - student/parent/federal/private - we'll unravel the confusion.
-
Your "Next Step"
So what's next when you leave our office? We'll be sure you understand the priorities and actions required for the next 60 days - and the remainder of the current school year.
-
Timeliness
You can count on us to start on time and finish within 75 minutes. Please be on time, since we schedule our consultations in 1-hour time slots. We want to offer you a full uninterrupted 75 minutes of our time to help get you started with your family’s College Planning.
