LEVEL 3 (Grades 10-11)
Our LEVEL 3 Comprehensive College Planning Program is called College Selection. The main features added beyond LEVEL 2 include a Refined College List being provided to the student.
We can't over-emphasize the importance of the College List! Just shy of an understanding and proper implementation of Need-based and Merit-based Financial Aid strategies, "picking the right schools" is THE biggest contributor to the ultimate out-of-pocket costs a family will face. Selecting the "right" college can result in a 4-year college experience while picking the wrong one(s) often leads to a 6 or 7-year term!
The Challenge of "Brand Name Paralysis"
Helping students select excellent-fit colleges is one of our core College Planning goals. "Brand Name Paralysis" afflicts many students and parents and is one of our biggest challenges in working with families "stuck" on a name. While HYP (Harvard, Yale, Princeton), Stanford, Duke, USC, UCLA and Berkeley (to name just a few!) are marvelous schools for the right students, they're often a horrible match for others, even those who can "get in".
